About this data

Lexington Records is a public-records project of The Lexington Times, an independent Lexington, Kentucky news organization. Every record here was published by a government agency; we normalize it, index it, and keep it findable.

Property sales

Source: Fayette County Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) sales list. Last retrieved Sept. 12, 2026; coverage September 2024 through September 2026.

• "Owner of record" is the PVA's current owner at the time we retrieved the list — not necessarily the buyer in the sale shown, since a parcel can change hands again. It is often an LLC, trust or lender rather than a person.
• "Arm's-length" reflects the PVA's own sales-validity code (ARMS LENGTH TRANSACTION). Non-arm's-length transfers (affiliated organizations, close relatives, master commissioner sales, transfer tax not paid) are shown but excluded from medians by default.
• "Package sale" (PVA code MULTIPLE PROPERTIES) means several parcels transferred for one price; the PVA repeats the package price on every parcel, so those rows are shown with a badge and excluded from medians, sums and price per square foot.
• The two most recent months are marked "still updating": deeds are recorded on a lag of several weeks, so their counts grow on each refresh.
• "Neighborhood" is the PVA's appraisal-neighborhood code, not a subdivision or HOA boundary. Square footage and year built are PVA characteristics, not verified measurements.
• Coordinates and council districts (where shown) come from the LFUCG parcel GIS layer, joined on parcel number.
• We show the address of the property that sold, because that is the record. We do not publish anyone's home address as a person attribute, and we do not link sales to the other datasets on this site.

• RECAP mirrors what PACER users have shared; a docket may be incomplete or lag the live PACER docket. Each case page links to both.
• A complaint, indictment or information is an allegation. Nothing on this site is a finding unless a docket entry shows the court entered one.
• Party pages exist only for names that appear in two or more cases, and match by exact spelling.
• Criminal dockets are included as filed by the court. We do not publish arrest or jail records on this site.

• Figures are as published by each employer for the fiscal year shown. Some employers publish base salary only; others publish total pay including overtime. The columns available are listed on each employer page.
• Pay records are public under the Kentucky Open Records Act (KRS 61.870–61.884). We publish name, title, department and pay only — never addresses, dates of birth or contact information.
• Someone with the same name at the same employer may be two people; the source data does not always distinguish them.

What is deliberately not here

No arrest logs, jail rosters or mugshots. Per-pageview traffic on the names of people charged but not convicted is an incentive we do not want, and it is not what this site is for. The Lexington Times covers criminal cases as news when they are newsworthy.

How current is this?

• Property sales: PVA list last retrieved Sept. 12, 2026; the latest sale date on it is Sept. 8, 2026. Deeds reach the PVA list on a lag of several weeks, so the two most recent months grow when the list is re-pulled.
• Federal court: dockets last retrieved from CourtListener Sept. 12, 2026; the newest filing on file is Sept. 11, 2026. Cases filed after that date are not here yet.
• Salaries: updated when an employer publishes a new fiscal year or answers a records request; each employer's period and retrieval date are listed above.

These dates, not the build date in the footer, are the measure of how current each dataset is.

Corrections

If a record is wrong, we want to know. Email [email protected] with the page URL and what the issuing agency's record actually says. Where the agency's own record is wrong, we will note the dispute but cannot change the agency's data; take it up with the agency and we will update when they do.

Open data

All normalized JSON is published under /data/ and described in llms.txt. There is deliberately no API server or MCP endpoint: the JSON is the API. Reuse is free with attribution to the issuing agency and a link to this site.
